Cajun Kids Adventures Series Reviews

My name is Brittaney, and I met you and your wife at the Homeschool Convention in Orlando. I’m sure you met so many people that you may not remember me, but I was super excited about your books and purchased your three books at that time... I wanted to let you know that we are reading your books as a family, and we absolutely love them! I LOVE that there are no inappropriate words, that the siblings are kind, and the stories are exciting and adventurous while still appropriate for a young audience!!! We enjoy laughing at the antics of Timmy and relating to certain characters along the way! I hope you continue to write more books!!! We look forward to when book 4 becomes available! Thank you for providing screen free, wholesome entertainment for our family to enjoy! The Lord is using you to bless our family, and we are grateful.
— Brittaney S.
I met the author at TTD in Pigeon Forge, TN. The series looked interesting. I gave the first three books to my son and loved them! We can’t wait for more adventures.
— Karrie K.
Just bought the first book at the FPEA conference for my kiddos who where born in NOLA. We are already on chapter 4. Can’t wait to read the rest!!

Your series was recommended on a book group I follow. I took a chance, bought your first book and my daughter (6 + 7) LOVE it! So we ordered the next two in the series for Easter, because we were traveling to New Orleans for the first time. I thought you might enjoy knowing how much we are enjoying your books as a family. We are looking forward to more of them as you keep releasing them. Thank you.

Mystery At Indian Point Reviews

“…My almost 8 year old son and I just finished reading the first volume together. He loved it! He said to me, as I was leaving his room after tucking him in for the night, “Mom, I really want to start the next one tomorrow!” This is huge because he’s been trying to get away from me reading to him. I’m so thankful these books have brought back a joyful bedtime story time. The setting is so clear you can really picture the surroundings and the characters. We both love Timmy; he makes us laugh. All the kids are so sweet!”

— Mary B.

“I found this book to be fascinating-- it had the right amount of mystery , a compelling plot, and interesting characters. That the story is inspired by the experiences of children who grew up in this area of Louisiana helps make it a really good read.”

— Gail H.

“I am a third grade teacher and I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the plot line moved quickly which is great to keep young minds engaged in a story. There was a lot of mystery and intrigue but it was a completely realistic story that my students should be able to picture themselves as part of. Realistic fiction is my favorite genre, especially as a class read aloud, because my students connect more with a story if they can actually picture themselves in it. I also loved how this story will introduce them to the bayou which will be new for many of them. I always say that books are passports to a new world and this one is a great example of that. I can't wait to read other stories in the series!”

— Karole M.

“Cajun Kids Adventures, set in the backwaters of the mighty Atchafalaya River in South Louisiana, takes the reader through the thrills and dangers of life on the river and bayous, all the while emphasizing the normalcy of childhood and the glorious beauty of creation. C.P. Landry has captured the essence of the culture and community of a modern family choosing to live in an uncommon environment. These books are a great read for most, but a "must read" for lower and middle schoolers!”

— Linda P.

“What a great little book! There are a lot of interesting facts about Cajun Country one learns in this first book. I love how the kids are involved in solving crimes and mysteries! Takes me back to my Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys days! If anyone loves a good book, with a good mystery, he/she will enjoy this book. I also didn’t have to worry about there being any foul language which was refreshing in today’s world. I highly recommend it!”

— Michele S.

“What a wonderful, well written children’s book!…As a former 4th grade teacher, I would most definitely have had them in my class room book shelves. They would appeal to both boys & girls as well as children up to adults. I found myself laughing out loud while reading. He does a fabulous job of describing each of their 5 kids unique personalities. As the story unfolds, I love how the children work together on their adventures. This is a series you would want your children and grandchildren reading…Well done Mr. Landry!”

— Cheryle B.

A great read! As a dad that is usually working at bedtime this adventure has allowed me to connect with my kids, 9 and 11 with tales of exploring in nature and learning from the experiences. As I read aloud and try to voice-act the characters I can see the enjoyment in my kids eyes as they imagine being out on the bayou. The author has included details that are relatable to our every day lives. My kids imaginations have come alive since the first read and even in your limited city-bound parks they are trying to explore and make discoveries.

“…Initially, I bought Mystery at Indian Point for my grandson, to encourage more reading during the next summer break. Then out of curiosity, I read it first. As a result, I enjoyed reading this book so much (three times) that I decided to keep it and to order a second copy of Volume 1 for my grandson… How wonderful to have a book series that celebrates goodness and child-like wonder!…The author's imagination and stories evolve from his family's experiences at their camp along the mouth of the Atchafalaya River… Enjoy!”

— Vana P.

“Easy to order, easy to find, and pretty fast shipping, I am currently reading it to my child, it is a amazing book so far my daughter loves her nightly chapter!”

— Shayne L.

“I truly enjoyed reading this book. It was a wonderful family story full of love and adventure. I have to say Timmy stole my heart. He made me laugh from his boldness. Cant wait to read the second book.”

— Terrie K.

“This amazing family adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat after each chapter. This book is mainly directed for children, but our whole family enjoyed every page. We read the book aloud during family time before bed and our kids wanted to keep the adventure alive, even though it was bedtime. We totally recommend this book for kids and for the entire family. We can’t wait to see what the family is up to in Volume 2.”

— Natalie S.

“Brought back childhood memories of searching for treasure, feathers, rocks, etc. Loved how the children' s discovery was incorporated into a learning experience. Will be giving the book as Christmas gifts to our grandchildren.”

“After reading Mystery at Indian Point, the first book in the Cajun Kids Adventure Series, I was delighted to discover a book series to share with my grandchildren as well as local school libraries. During my career in education I have worked with students from K-5 to 12th grade with a goal of helping create a love of learning by introducing fascinating books…Whether you want to use it in the classroom or reading to your grandchildren, this book is a win!”

Hello! My son and I met the author on Saturday at the Ohio homeschool convention. My son purchased the first 4 books of the series series! He loved them!! In 4 days he has finished the first three books and is working on the last. He shared that he is most similar to Mark and Timmy. He can relate to Mark because he loves being out in the wild and also loves to read! He can relate to Timmy because he is also 10 years old and also funny, adventurous and sometimes a bit crazy! He loves Timmy’s jokes and that he can make him laugh at any time! He is excited for the fifth book to be released! Thank you for all that you do!

Adventure in the Wild Reviews

My grandson is a reluctant reader for the most part. From book one to the end of book three he was all in. Applause for this great series and author— I highly recommend.
— Jerrie L.
This was an amazing read! It’s educational, telling us about Louisiana living, along with information about monkeys. It also shows parent and sibling respect. I request this book for anyone who loves learning and adventure!

...in this third volume of the Cajun Kids Adventures series, 10-year-old Timmy embarks on a journey of Mystery, Investigation, and Truth... In this novel, the young characters’ parents and the local librarian assist with the children’s understanding of the world around them. Moreover, the book’s numerous picture illustrations help to transport readers into the setting and plot. The writing also promotes good stewardship and good manners. I highly recommend the Cajun Kids Adventures series to readers eight and older.

Storm Clouds Reviews

These award winning books are just amazing. The author does such a great job of bringing the characters and their adventures to life. I wish these would have been around when I was teaching in Louisiana. I would have definitely been using them in my classroom. Now, they make great gifts to friends, family and teacher friends still teaching.
— Cheryl B.
